Campaign Overview

The New Humanity Foundation is developing an Eco Community and Meditation Retreat Center on a 1,500 sqm plot of land in Crete, Greece, with a building capacity of 450 sqm. The center will feature an eco-friendly building housing a meditation hall, various accommodation options, communal spaces, supporting facilities, an olive meditation grove, and an organic vegetable garden.

Phases 1 (legal setup and land scouting) and 2 (securing the land) are complete. The fundraising campaign targets €1,620,000 to fund architectural design, permits, construction, solar panels, eco systems, furnishings, landscaping, and operational setup.

Nestled between the majestic White Mountains of Crete, our new land plot offers an idyllic setting for an eco-community and meditation retreat center. Just a 20-minute drive from a charming seaside town with its picturesque beaches and vibrant local culture, the location blends tranquility with accessibility. The property is also conveniently situated only 45 minutes from an international airport and 35 minutes from the authentic town of Chania, known for its historic Venetian harbor and bustling markets. This serene haven provides the perfect backdrop for sustainable living and transformative retreats, surrounded by Crete’s natural beauty.

Completed Phases

Phase 1 (Completed): Legal Setup and Land Scouting (€10,000)
- Prepared legal entities, New Humanity Foundation in Malta, and New Humanity Life non-profit organization in the United States for fundraising needs. Consulting Greek lawyers and a notary for local operations.
- Conducted location scouting and feasibility studies to identify a suitable land plot.

Phase 2 (Completed): Land Purchase (€65,000)
- Secured the 1,500 sqm land plot in a beautiful location with a 450 sqm building capacity.

Next Phases

Year 1 (Months 1–12): Pre-Construction – Architectural Design and Permits (€70,000)
- Months 1–9: Develop project materials, launch fundraising Phase 1, and engage architects for an eco-friendly building plan.
- Months 9–12: Secure permits and finalize the design for the eco-center.

Years 2–3 (Months 13–36): Construction and Operational Setup (€1,475,000)
- Months 13–27: Launch crowdfunding Phase 2; begin groundbreaking.
- Months 13–27: Construct building (450 sqm, including 70 sqm meditation hall for 50 participants, various accommodation options, communal spaces, and supporting facilities); install eco-sustainable infrastructure (solar, rainwater systems, etc.). Solar Panels & Powerwall Batteries with a 25 kW capacity will provide yearly savings of around €10,500, covering most heating, AC, and retreat center energy needs.
- Months 28–33: Furnish interiors with eco-friendly materials and landscape gardens, pathways, olive meditation grove, and organic vegetable garden.
- Months 34–36: Train staff, launch marketing, host opening ceremony, and begin operations.
